As a former professional wrestler and current fan, IвЂ™m always excited to dive into a new WWE game, not to mention, I previously reviewed WWE 2K17. WWE 2K18 also comes with a brand new game engine вЂњthat delivers spectacular new lighting, more realistic skin and new camera effects.вЂќ If that wasnвЂ™t enough, youвЂ™ll also find a more immersive creation suite and the ability to now have eight-person matches.

The roster is so large that you can actually play as Colonel SandersвЂ¦yes, the KFC guy. WWE 2K18 is here and for the third year in a row, consistsВ of the largest roster ever in a WWE game. Once again, thereвЂ™s no 2K Showcase mode, but even if that was there, it just shows the problem with the WWE 2K gamesвЂ™ one-player campaigns. Loot boxes are paid for with in-game currency instead of real currency, so thereвЂ™s that, but it still puts a bad taste in my mouth.

All the while, wrestlers have worse dialogue than on TV and you have to deal with the needless disaster that isвЂ¦ *sigh* вЂ¦loot boxes. As you build your created wrestler up from NXT to the main roster, you cut a bunch of promos, interact with people backstage to do sidequests, and ultimately have to do matches over again because you didnвЂ™t get enough stars in your performance. The developers continue to try and figure out the formula for a one-player career mode with Mењњareer, building on the last couple installments and turning it into a mode that still doesnвЂ™t quite work.
